That first time I saw Bruce with the band at the Barrowlands Ballroom, I knew Runrig had found someone special. My whole family joined in the journey. My sister because of the hot Canadian and then my son who loved the fun loving antics he brought to the stage. Many concerts followed and we even met the whole band at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. That final dance at Stirling will live with me forever. Surrounded by both my sons, my wife and my sister, we spent one last night together. The first few bars of The Greatest Flame had tears falling from my eyes. I knew it would be the last time I would hear my favourite song but never could I have imagined on the eve of my 50th birthday that I definitely would never hear it live again. I've often said to my boys that when I'm gone they'll realise what that night meant to me. With Bruce now gone, I'm entirely grateful to have spent a final time with family, 25,000 other devoted fans and six of the most amazingly talented humans the world has ever seen. Thank you Bruce Guthro for saving Runrig and for the 20 years on stage that you brought so much joy. A eternal legend, may you find your peace sir, amen.
