I joined the Riggie ranks in 2001, when Bruce was still "the new singer". But what a singer, what a voice. The first Runrig concert I went to was a very special experience for me, because it was not like with many other bands where there is the lead singer and a few other guys or gals. I never had that impression with Runrig, the bond of the band was palpable and special and it was always clear that everyone was equally important and respected. Just as special as Bruce's distinctive charismatic way of interacting with the audience. I am so grateful for many fond memories. In addition to countless Runrig concerts and Bruce's solo performances, the Songwriters' Circles at the Tonder Festival have been a very special experience. I wish Bruce's family and friends much strength. My mother passed away from cancer at the age of 57, so my heart goes out to Jodi and Dylan. One knows that one's parents will usually pass away before one. But even when you're of age, an adult, it's still incredibly hard when a parent dies too young, when the person could have still had so much of life. I hope it is a small consolation how many people will miss Bruce and will keep him in special memory.
