They say to never meet your heroes but I’m glad I got to meet mine, he was the lead singer of my favourite band after all, so I was never going to pass up that opportunity! After a small interaction on social media about golf, Bruce asked for my email address so I passed it on. A few days later, in the afternoon before party on the moor kicked off, I checked my emails and there was an email in my inbox from the man himself letting me know that my name, along with my brother’s and two guests were on the door to the after show party and that he’d like to meet us - to say we were stoked would be an understatement!!! The cost of the passes in Bruce’s words “ But be forewarned, the aftershow guest passes will cost you strokes someday when I get to play your course.” Bruce wanted to talk about all things golf and Royal Dornoch and we wanted to talk about Runrig, Bruce and another incredible performance - I think we just about got the balance of conversation right… That night, we met Bruce the lead singer of Runrig - he soon became more than that, Tapadh leat ar caraid, Bruce! Much love to all of Bruce’s family and friends, thinking of you all x
