Never intrusive, but always there.

Since I have heard about Bruce's death, I ask myself how one can grieve so deeply for someone one didn't even know?
I got to know Runrig in 2004 and at the beginning I was still very unfamiliar with the older songs, I only found access to them much later. In contrast to the newer recordings! All the albums on which Bruce was the lead singer, ran with me soon up and down. I had finally found my favorite music.
I took my future husband to hear Runrig. We attended 6 wonderful concerts together, especially the magical concert on the Loreley and the Farewell concert in Cologne - at Bruce's wonderful, stripped down version of Year of the Flood the engagement of my husband and me began. Runrig's music and Bruce's voice have accompanied me for more than half of my life. Never intrusive, but always there.
Even though I didn't know him, even though I can continue to listen to his music, now that Bruce is gone, there is a hole. It feels like something important is missing.
My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.
RIP Bruce
