The years we shared...
A wonderful voice has been silenced forever.
I saw Bruce for the first time on Rockpalast with Runrig. I was totally enthusiastic about the new singer, the music and bought everything I could get my hands on, including Bruce's solo CDs. Even then there was a record store in our town that sold used LPs/CDs. I was at this tearful final concert in Cologne and at the even more emotional one in Stirling in Scotland for the final concert. I will never forget the horrified faces of my work colleagues who could hardly believe that I would fly from Germany to Scotland for a concert (!!).
But it just had to be - one last laugh, dance and cry.
A wonderful evening with friends from all over the world. I will always remember it.
It was just a wonderful year-long journey and now it has finally come to an end...
How I was happy to Corona about the online concerts and hoped again for a Christmas tour like 2019 with his wonderful children, it had been so nice. It was just pure joy of music on stage!
On this tour Bruce drew my lot and I won a bear from Andrea.
A person who brought so much joy into my life, whose songs are and were somehow always the answer to all my questions, is dead.
For the past few days, Runrig fans have been sharing their memories of when they first heard Bruce and Runrig and became aware of his own songs. It's like Eva says, you feel like sitting around a campfire and telling each other the story.
My deepest condolences to the wonderful family to whom we owe another 20 years of Runrig. While we were "bathing" in beautiful emotions and the music, you were missing Bruce at home. I can't begin to imagine how you are feeling when the news alone shocked me.
Bruce music is forever in my heart, head, CD shelf and playlists. Forever in my life.
We will remember. God bless you, we Riggies love you.
