Condolences and memories

Runrig's music has accompanied me for as long as I can remember.
During my studies, it must have been 1990 or earlier, I heard „Loch Lomond“ on SWF3 for the first time. At that time there was no google, no Shazam - no way to find out the name of the song on the radio.
And one day the moderator took pity and told the title and name of the song. I bought the first CD, then the second and from this moment I was a fan for the rest of my life.
When Donnie left the band, I couldn't believe that another singer could replace the man with the melt in his voice.
But with Seach of Angels came new songs with that expressive voice emotional and with an impressive intensity.
In Bonn at the Museumsmeile Bruce convinced me immediately at the first concert in Germany.
He developed the songs of Runrig in a new way: exciting, thrilling, songs that took me on journeys or to other worlds, like „Scandinavia“ or „From the North“. In the melodies and lyrics I always found the right thing for my feelings, great joy, great sadness, loss when I separated from my husband „one thing“, or the death of my father two years ago „going home“. I also love Book of golden stories, Stamping ground, Wall of china, Life is, Day of Days. An toll dubh, Somewhere – and lots more.
I was there for the last farewell concert in Sterling, to experience Runrig live for the last time. I sang, danced, cried with all the others - until the last Loch Lomond.
And there was always a little bit of hope. Maybe one day there will be a concert to look forward to,
for a good cause, an anniversary of the band…...
Runrig concerts were always unique, exhilarating, emotional and makes me happy. To be a part of the great Riggie family was such a great feeling. We met after the concerts and there is now a regulars' table, every month
In Düsseldorf I had the great fortune to be able to see the Christmas Tour live in 2019, no one could have known at the time that it was to be the last tour.
My deepest condolences to the family, friends, the people who loved and cherished him and will miss him. 🕯
Bruce
You were a unique musician who accompanied and enriched my life. It is unbelievable for me that there will be no more new songs with your amazing voice, no more concerts with your friendliness and humour.
Take care on your last journey
Wherever you are now, the music there will be fantastic. ❤
