On his Facebook page Bruce describes himself as "Husband, father, son, brother, singer songwriter, entertainer.".
This order tells a lot and everyone knew that his family played the most important role for him. And it saddens me to no end that he wasn't meant to have more years with his loved ones...
I was lucky enough to know him as entertainer and singer songwriter. But in fact it was so much more than that. Because of my first Runrig concert back in 2012 my whole life changed.
I met new friends - with some of them I'll be having a lifelong connection
I visited new places - Denmark, Scotland and Nova Scotia
I discovered the Canadian East Coast music - it's been heartbreaking to see so many of them paying their tributes to Bruce
I even moved to a new home and got a new job.
But if it wasn't with Bruce none of that would have ever happened. So, I'm forever grateful.
n October we'll finally come back to beautiful Nova Scotia after the long years of Covid. We are looking forward to it but it will be also sad and not like times before...
His passing was a heavy shock. But one day we'll find comfort in the wonderful songs that he left for us. He touched so many hearts so very much with his unique voice.
My deepest condolences to Kim, Dylan and Jodi and the Guthro family.
Much love from Germany
