Sam Graham and Siobhan Maclean. Isle of Islay, Scotland 12th September 2023

We can't believe the news of Bruce's passing ...he truly broke the mould. We've been a huge Runrig fans from their onset in the 70's, but were dubious that the band would survive Donnie's departure. After buying In Search of Angels and listening in trepidation, all fears were allayed. Bruce's voice was so powerful and just SO right for Runrig ... a perfect pairing. Likewise, listening to 'Live at the Celtic Connections' and hearing Bruce's cheeky wee message at the very end of the recording addressing his detractors...well that was just brilliant!! The albums and live performances just got better and better, and we feel so lucky to have seen Bruce perform with Runrig many times . That last astonishing performance at Stirling was uplifting and heartbreaking at the same time, and we hope Bruce was aware of just how much Runrig fans here in Scotland and around the world loved and admired him. We send our love and sincerest condolences to Bruce's wife and family, friends and bandmates and hope the love and respect that Bruce gained all around the world, will be a great comfort to you at this saddest of times.xxxx
