Chris Mower Northumberland UK 12th September 2023

In shock, feel shattered, can’t get Bruce out of my mind, don’t want to believe it. My wife and I are heartbroken, can’t believe that we feel like this for someone we did not know, having said that we feel like we did know Bruce through the music. We first became aware of the music of Bruce and Runrig in 1998 and have followed religiously since. We have seen the band live many times in the North East of the UK and most notably at Edinburgh Castle several times and of course the Last Dance in 2018. Thank you Bruce for keeping the band together, for your extraordinary and emotional voice, for your fantastic presence on stage. We all cried after the Last Dance gig and continue to now, still can’t bring myself to listen to your music but will be able to soon. We fans had no idea that Bruce had been so sick let alone for so long. We are all thankful that he continued to perform whilst he was able and that Kim and the family were happy for him to go away on tour for long periods when I’m sure they would have preferred to have him close to home. Can totally understand why so many fans are posting messages on line, you and the band made a huge impact on all of our lives. The music/lyrics spoke to us and meant so much to us. The band will continue to be well loved. We shall always think of Bruce when we play his & Runrig music. He was taken far too soon. Your loving family will see you out there somewhere. Thank you for the music, you will be missed tremendously. Thoughts are with Kim, Jodi, Dylan and all extended family.
