I was introduced to Runrig from the age of 3 and at 5/6 year old I attended my first ever gig with my Dad to see them live at the City Hall in Newcastle. It was absolutely brilliant, in the front row singing and jumping about to the fantastic music and unmistakably mesmerising vocals of Bruce. Towards the end of the gig, Bruce reached out to my Dad and asked for me to join him on stage, I was hurled up onto his shoulders in front of the entire city hall crowd and given a tambourine to help play along with the band! It is definitely one of fondest childhood memories, all because of Bruce's willingness to allow me on stage! A year or two later we returned to see a runrig gig again and managed to get photographs signed by everyone in the band. My thoughts and condolences go out to Bruce's family, friends, band mates and to any fans feeling the force of the tragic news.
