Loch Ness - 2007

I must have seen Bruce perform with Runrig at least 10 times, all over the UK from the first time I saw him with the band at The City Hall in Sheffield in 1998 to the last time I saw him, at the same venue, in 2016. The one that sticks most in my mind however, was a very (very) wet and windy day on the banks of Loch Ness, in 2007. I had travelled across Scotland to watch Runrig's big outdoor show that August, all the way from Ardnamurchan where I was on a holiday. It rained all day, getting progressively more heavy the closer we got to the field where the show would be. Bruce was fantastic that night, as always. I remember him saying, "I'll stand out in the rain with you", and stepping out from the shelter of the stage to sing to the audience while standing in the rain. A very memorable version of "In Scandinavia" was sung, with the rain lashing across the stage. But the best moment of all was when Bruce sat (in the rain) with just his acoustic guitar for accompaniment, and sang "Every River". A beautiful moment, a special memory and a performance that I'm sure everyone who was there will always remember. Thank you Bruce :)
