?I meant to write this in 2018?

I left it too late. After the Last Dance I intended to write to the band, to express in whatever meagre words I could muster, the biggest of thank you's. Like so many, Runrig were the soundtrack to my life. No other band has ever came close to capturing my emotions and thoughts. When they performed their last concert, I couldn't imagine a future when we didn't once again share a concert. I suppose I always thought there would be 'one more time'. I mean, how could there not be?

The emptiness of now knowing there will never be another time is so abrupt. It's numbing to know that we will never again hear Bruce's exquisite voice, or his wonderful anecdotes, or his 'hallelujahs', or his cheeky walks over to his bandmates, or his acoustic renditions, or his variety of hats, or his simple grace at travelling time and again to spend his time with us.

My first Runrig concert was what appeared to be their last ... Stirling Castle in 1997. I was 16yrs old and had just discovered them. I was genuinely heartbroken that I'd just found them and then they were gone. Then there was Bruce, bringing Runrig, and us, all back to life. It was a magical time. New songs, sung with such genuine heart, as though Bruce and those songs were always meant to be. I remember he once replied to one of my tweets and I was giddy with excitement 😁 I screenshot it and showed it to all my pals! I remember being at one of his first concerts, at the Magnum in Irvine Scotland, and my pal and I were in love 'Book of Golden Stories'. When the opening chords began we screamed so loud Bruce actually stopped and acknowledged our excitement. Good times! And quite simply, I remember, time and time again, being in awe of this guy, his voice, his charisma, his energy.

Bruce, thank you for everything. It doesn't seem like a big enough thank you. But you genuinely got me through the darkest of my days, the highest of my highs, and the mundane in-between.

Much love to all of your family and friends. If you're this big a miss for me .....
